Based on the Path to a Better Life program, the following Christian spiritual disciplines are recommended to support spiritual growth and mental health:

Daily Faith Practices:

  • Prayer: Establishing a daily habit starting with gratitude, Scripture reading, and personal petitions.
  • Scripture Meditation: Selecting short passages to read slowly, reflect upon, and journal applications.
  • Worship and Gratitude: Practicing silent adoration, reading Psalms aloud, and keeping a gratitude journal of three specific thanksgivings daily.

Physical and Mental Disciplines:

  • Fasting: Practicing safe fasting (starting with 12-hour fasts) to sharpen spiritual clarity and minimize distractions.
  • Rest and Solitude: Observing a weekly Sabbath by ceasing work and dedicating time to worship and reflection. This also includes carving out 10-15 minutes of daily quiet time.

Community and Outward Disciplines:

  • Fellowship and Accountability: Participating in online forums, group chats, and weekly check-ins with a Traveling Companion.
  • Selfless Service: Engaging in practical acts such as volunteering, helping neighbors, or active listening.
